What You Need to Know:

Important Information:

  • If you do not re-enroll during this Open Enrollment period, the following will occur:
    • Your healthcare coverage will continue.
    • Your dependent(s) healthcare coverage will continue.
    • Your Flexible Benefits will continue.
    • You will be receiving a new set of coupons reflecting your 2023 benefits from TASC.

Dependent Coverage:

  • You can add your eligible dependent during this enrollment period and you will have to submit dependent documentation for each dependent.
  • If you are covering your dependent, you must indicate your dependent’s social security number and provide documentation of proof of eligibility, if not previously submitted. If not, your dependent coverage may be terminated.
  • You can terminate your dependent coverage, but you will not be able to re-enroll the dependent until the next Open Enrollment provided you have maintained your enrollment in a School Board sponsored healthcare plan. You can add a dependent throughout the year if you experience a qualifying change in status event.
  • You and your dependent must be enrolled in the same healthcare plan.

There may be other coverage options available for you and your family and you may be eligible to purchase coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. In the Health Insurance Marketplace, you may be eligible for a new kind of tax credit that lowers your monthly premiums right away and you can see what your premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses will be before you enroll. Being eligible for COBRA does not limit your eligibility for coverage for a tax credit through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Additionally, you may qualify for a special enrollment opportunity for another group or state-funded healthcare plan for which you may be eligible (such as a spouse’s plan). For additional information, please visit www.healthcare.gov.

Healthcare Plans:

  • The current Cigna healthcare plans (OAP High, OAP Standard and SureFit*) will continue to be offered. There are rate increases on all three healthcare plans. There are, also, minor plan design changes to the OAP plans. The plan design for SureFit will remain the same.

*Selection of a Primary Care Physician (PCP) is required at the time of enrollment and you must reside in the tri-county (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach) service area. If a PCP is not selected, Cigna will assign you a participating provider based on your zip code.

Flexible Benefits:

The School Board continues to offer high-quality flexible benefits for eligible participants.

  • Dental:
    • Delta Dental (DHMO & PPO)
    • UnitedHealthcare Dental (DHMO & PPO)
  • Vision: EyeMed
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: TASC

2023 Benefits will not take effect if your 2022 account is not paid in full by the November 15, 2022 deadline.
